Ronny Lem Boyd
Ronny "Ron" L. Boyd, age 67, of Hammett, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 15, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM, on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the V.F.W. Hall in Glenns Ferry and the inurnment will follow at Glenn Rest Cemetery. Cremation is under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Ronny was born on October 24, 1946, in Wendell to Kenneth Boyd and Zola McIntosh. Ronny grew up in Hammett, went to school in Glenns Ferry, and finished his senior year in Mountain Home. After graduation he went into the US Navy in 1966, stationed at the Naval Station in San Diego, California, on the USS Uhlmann. He served in Viet Nam. Ronny got out of the Navy on May 7, 1968.
After getting out of the Navy he went to work for the Stinker Station in Mountain Home. He became a manager and relocated to Fruitland for 38 years.
Ronny had a heart attack in 2007 and was forced into retirement. Ronny had his mobile home moved to Hammett to use as a rental and lived with his sister and brother in-law Dolores and Jerry Good. Ronny like to go to all the basketball and football games in Fruitland. He also liked the Seattle Seahawks.
Ronny is survived by his sisters Claudia Geiger of Caldwell, Dolores Good of Hammett, Marlena Vallard of Hammett, brothers Jeff Arellano of Boise, Louis Arellano of Boise, Manuel Arellano of Glenns Ferry, Corey Arellano of Hammett and Mario Arellano of Mountain Home. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Don Waller. He had many close friends Cindy and Dan Thompson, Rod Hutchins, Ron Colmen, Venida and Joe Shockley, Tom and Karen Evers, Janice and Kay Obray.
He will be missed by all.
