Dear Aunt Diane, I just recently heard from a friend in Burley about Uncle Steve's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. You two were so lovely together and his deep love for you was obvious. You made him a very happy man. I haven't seen you for so long, but you were always so very kind to me. I hope your faith and happy memories sustain you at this difficult time. Much Love, Holly

Diane - Pam and I were saddened to hear about Steve's passing. Pam had the honor of serving with Steve during her entire 14-year career in the House. It was also my honor to work with Steve over the years as political editor for The Idaho Statesman, then governmental affairs manager for Boise Cascade, and finally as president of the Idaho Association of Commerce & Industry. Steve was an old-school gentleman - his word was his bond. As Rev & Tax chairman, Steve was both smart and wise (they are not necessarily the same thing). He treated everyone fairly as they worked with him or appeared before his committee. He understood the needs of agriculture and business, but he also understood the need for a quality education system. A Legislature awith 105 Steve Antones would have been great. But a state with even one Steve Antone in it is a very lucky state indeed. On behalf of Pam and myself, our condolences to you and your family.

Dear Diane and family,
I thank God I got to know Steve during my years of public service. I learned from him how legislative service should be done. He was unfailingly fair, kind, and gentlemanly in his position as Chair of Rev and Tax, and when I had the opportunity to chair a committee, I used him as a role model. We who served became better people from his example.

Sincerely,
Bob Fry

Dear Mrs. Antone and Family,

Chairman Steve Antone was a gentleman, a class act, very knowledgeable, even tempered and fair-minded.

I was honored to serve with him for two terms in the Idaho House of Representatives.

He served the United States and the state of Idaho with honor and distinction throughout his life.

God bless Steve, you and your family.

Sincerely,

Joseph W. Walker

Dear Diane and family, Steve's passing marks the end of service for one of Idaho's finest public servants. Steve's life is an example of giving and service few Idahoans can match. We extend our love and sympathy to you, and thank you for sharing this outstanding individual with all Idahoans. Debbie and Randy Furniss

I first met Representative Antone when I was a page at the legislature in 1971. He impressed me as one of the hardest working, most thoughtful and dedicated leaders in the state house. We would be a better state if there were more Steve Antones in public office. Thank you to his family for sharing this good man with all of Idaho. Many people on both sides of the political aisle will miss him very much.
