Belton, S.C. - Perry I. Taylor, 82, died on June 27, 2013 at his residence in Belton, S.C. Perry was born in Belton on March 27, 1931 to the late Hubert I. Taylor and Pauline Dye Taylor. In December 1950, Perry joined the United States Air Force and began service during the Korean War. He also served in a combat zone in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service. During his 22 years of service, Perry was assigned to tours in England, Guam, Okinawa and Saudi Arabia. In February 1973, Perry retired from the Air Force at the Rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Sylvia Weeks Taylor; three children; son, Wayne and wife Yira, daughter, Janet Taylor Brdar and husband Milo; son, Gordon and wife Mae and 12 grandchildren. Perry is also survived by his sister, Catheline Watson, three nieces and one nephew.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Anderson, S.C.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Cox Funeral Home in Belton. Private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 10:30 a.m., on June 29, 2013 with a memorial service to follow at 11:30am conducted by Pastor Dale Bradley at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1500 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, S.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621 or Fellowship Baptist Church in Anderson, S.C.
The family will be at the residence.
