Angelo Joseph Venezia

died July 10, 2013. He was born September 30, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late Frank and Josephine Venezia. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic Grade School and Arsenal Technical High School. He married Rose Peoni on September 9, 1951. Angelo served his country in the US Army as a sergeant in the Korean War and was awarded a Bronze Star. He began employment at an early age alongside his father Frank and brothers at Venezia Brothers Wholesale Produce Company on S. New Jersey Street. He eventually took on leadership of Venezia Brothers with his sons, Frank M. and John J., working until 2001. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Anthony, John, Sam, Salvatore and Fred; and his sisters, Phyllis, Josephine and Marie. Angelo is survived by his wife, Rose; sons, Frank M. and John J. (Michelle) Venezia; daughter, Antoinette (Kurt) Layer; grandchildren, Michael A., Sophia Rose, and Alexa Venezia, Erika Rose, Evan E. and Elizabeth Mary Layer; great grandson, Xavier Anderson; and his sister, Anna Rose Boylan. Visitation will be Saturday July 13, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Daniel F. O' Riley Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
