Carl Seals, Jr.
88, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Indianapolis.
Carl was born July 30, 1925 in Jacksonville, Florida to Carl and Ara Alta (Carleton) Seals. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving during World War II, where he was a Boatswain's Mate, operating landing craft in the Pacific. Following the War, he worked for the Army Finance Center in Lawrence, Indiana until retiring in 1980. A father of two, he is survived by brother, Jack Seals (Diana); sister, Evelyn Watson (Russell); daughter, Sandra Grepp (David); son, Carl Seals III (Diane); and grandchildren, Elizabeth Grepp, Michael Grepp, Allison Crowe (Mike), Leslie Bonawitz (Nick) and Isaac Seals. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 52 years, Rosemary (Hanson) Seals, who he met in St. Louis following the War. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East , 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis with visitation from Noon until service time. Burial will be held Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis with military honors.
