Dale M. Keener

89, of Indianapolis, passed away February 21, 2014. He was born March 28, 1924 in Logansport, IN, to the late Oris R. and Hazel Powlen Keener. Dale was a 1942 graduate of Logansport High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, and received his Masters in Engineering from Purdue University.

Dale married Juanita E. Linton, August 6, 1944, and was employed as a mechanical engineer for Stewart-Warner for over 25 years, retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 345 N. Kitley Ave., Indianapolis.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Juanita E. "Sally" Keener; children, Lyn LaPrees, Nikki Schwenzer (Al) and Kit Keener (Dona); grandchildren, Kerry LaPrees (Jennifer), Ryan Schwenzer (Brittany), Lee Schwenzer, Krisha Loud (Tommy), Kelly Piltz (Todd) and Jenna Albrycht (Jeff); and five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kensington, Avery, Winston and Baylor. Two sisters, Jean Dickson and Marilyn Wilson, preceded him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church and/or the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
