Darl William Plotner
Was born August 22, 1914 in Amboy, Indiana, to Gladys Overman Plotner and Carl Plotner. In June, 1938, he married Olive Norris his wife of almost 75 years. From 1959 until 1997 they owned and operated Plotners' Style Shops in Logansport, Peru, Kokomo, Franklin, Indianapolis and Carmel.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Elks Lodge, and St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
Six brothers preceded him in death, Ray, Dale, Warren, Harry, Roy and twin brother, Elbert. In addition to his wife, Olive, he is survived by daughter, Sharon Smith (Ronald) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jill Ingrassia Zingales (Luigi) of Chicago and Kete Cockrell (Karen) of New York City; great- granddaughters, Jacquelyn Ingrassia, Janie Ingrassia, and Tessa Cockrell. He cherished his dog Buffy.
He was a delightful and warm spirited man whose life exemplified the Greatest Generation.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29th in Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel , with services immediately following. There will be a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. in Ever Rest Cemetery near Logansport, IN.
