Douglas Ray McClure
62, of Camby, IN passed away into eternal life with Christ on October 25, 2012. He was born on November 7, 1949 in Spencer, IN to Donald L. (Deceased) and Violet (Carter) McClure.
He attended Mooresville High School and joined the Marines in 1969. Becoming a double amputee as a result of wounds suffered in Vietnam, he was a receipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star & Vietnam Service Medal.
He loved the Lord and was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church. He is now walking on his new legs on heavenly streets of gold. (Rev 21:21) He was an auto racing fan, loved music & painting.
Douglas is survived by his mother, Violet (Carter) McClure of Camby, IN; a sister, Carole Ooley of Plainfield, IN; 2 brothers, Donald R. (Donna) McClure of Monrovia, IN & Curtis (Jessie) McClure of Camby, IN; 4 nephews and 2 nieces. Douglas is preceded in death by his father, Donald L. McClure and a brother, Jerry McClure.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012 and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Billy Gott will officiate the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Douglas will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
