Edson Lynn Kiewit

88, Indianapolis, died November 12, 2013. He was born to Louis and Edith Kiewit on June 24, 1925, and raised in Crothersville, Indiana. During WWII he was a decorated combat flier of B-17 bombers with the Eighth Air Force operating out of England. He was later assigned to the Tactical Air Command and saw service in both the Korean War and the Cuban Missile Crisis before retiring with the rank of Major in 1965. While maintaining his military career as a reservist, he worked 30 years with the Indiana Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1982 as Assistant Treasurer.

He served several years as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Telco Federal Credit Union (now known as Forum Credit Union). He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Indianapolis, where he taught Adult Sunday School and served a number of terms as President of the Church Board. He was also a member of the Eighth Air Force Historical Society and the Indiana Chapter of the 351st Bomb Group Association.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Neoma Guffy Kiewit, a son Paul David Kiewit (Gail Berger) of Florida, and a daughter, Karol (John) Siefer of Indianapolis, two grandchildren Timothy (Rebekah) Siefer and Lauren Siefer, and two great-grandsons.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on November 16 at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm on November 17 in Foundation Hall at Marquette in Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Marquette Foundation.
