Emmet Robert Miller
103, Indianapolis, passed away Friday February 10, 2012. He was born in Indianapolis on September 7, 1908 to John Frederick and Clara Lauber Miller.
Emmet attended Central Catholic School and was a 1928 graduate of Cathedral High School. He was the oldest living alumnus of Cathedral High School. While at Cathedral, Emmet was the quarterback of the football team and was a 3 time all-city and 2 time all-state selection as a player. Emmet also attended the University of Notre Dame.
He retired as Sales Promotion Manager of Crescent Paper Company in 1973 after working there for 45 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and a founding member of the Indianapolis Oldtimer's Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Gutsch Miller and his daughter, Carole Jean Adams. Emmet is survived by his son, David J. Miller; daughter, Marilyn Janet Schrage; 13-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 6 great- great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church. Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, where morning prayers will be said on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
