Ernest Jackson "Rip" Felton
Of Indianapolis and Brownsburg, Indiana and originally of Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, died on June 29 at the age of 91. Rip is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lucie F. (Fink) Felton, his daughters, Jeanne S. Hochstetler (Donald), Margaret L. Felton, and Carolyn J. Cagnassola (Gregory), ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was the son of Ernest Ephraim Felton and Berdine Samler Felton. His brother, Craig, sister, Jean, and daughter, Laura, predeceased him.
Rip was a graduate of the University of Michigan where he played football and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Rip was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He rose to the rank of major in the US Marine Corps. After his career in the military, he was a personnel manager for the Alcoa Aluminum Company. Rip also enjoyed public service and was president of the Brownsburg town board.
