Esther Elizabeth Jacobs
95, a former New Castle resident, died Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Forum at The Crossing in Indianapolis. She was born August 8, 1918 in Winslow, Indiana to Luther and Ethel Hale and graduated from Winslow High School in 1935, Indiana University in 1939 and married Leque Jacobs in 1940.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leque G. Jacobs; her parents, Luther and Ethel Hale; siblings, Ruth Hale Garrison, Velma Hale Pancake, Mary Hale Richardson, Dr. Harry Hale and Margaret Hale Williams.
Esther was survived by her children, Anne Lowder, Susan Clemons, John Jacobs, Richard Jacobs; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces nephews.
The family would like to thank Forum at the Crossing Memory Care staff for their standard of care during the past two years for Esther, and Seasons Hospice for helping the family through this difficult process. A very special thank you to, Megan Greeley, who tirelessly provided loving care for Esther during her long illness and became a special friend to the family.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Reverend Ken Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
