George R. Haddin

82, Indianapolis, died on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Community Hospital East. He was born in Portland, Indiana, on May 19, 1931. He graduated from Winamac High School in 1950. He attended Ball State Teacher's College and graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. Mr. Haddin served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Following his military service, he was employed with RCA Corporation in Indianapolis for over 20 years as a guard and foreman. He was a fourth degree knight in the Bishop Chatard Assembly and a member of Fatima Council Knights of Columbus. He was instrumental in appropriating funds to secure a statue of Father McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus. George is survived by Martha, his wife of over 53 years. The Haddins have been members of Little Flower Parish for over 50 years. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel , 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 E. 13th St., Indianapolis, Indiana. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
