Dr. Gordon T. Gray, DDS

88, longtime Martinsville, IN resident, currently of Mooresville, IN, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Greencastle, IN on November 27, 1925 to the late Leon Gray, MD and Muriel (Tabor) Gray. Graduating Martinsville High School in 1943, he proudly served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 as a Medical Corpsman, 3rd class. His military service saw him aboard ship in the Pacific, Atlantic and Mediterranean. He attended Indiana University and DePauw University and then graduated second in his class from the Indiana School of Dentistry. Dr. Gray practiced dentistry for 54 years and was awarded the Indiana Dental Society 50 year award. While at IU he met the love of his life, Janet (Fournier) Gray, and married her in Frankfort, IN on June 12, 1946. He was a member of the Martinsville Kiwanis Club, Elks Club #1349 and American Legion Post # 230. He also served his community by sitting on the Martinsville School Board from 1961-1964.

Dr. Gray is survived by his wife, Janet, who resides at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville; sister, Carol (Gray) Dixon of Fremont, OH; children, Judge G. Thomas (Tom) Gray (wife, Barbara Gray), Martinsville; Wallace (Wally) Gray (wife, Janelle Gray), Carmel, IN; Phillip Gray (wife, Anne Gray-Le Coz), St. Louis, MO and Elizabeth (Betsy) Goltermann (husband, David), Glen Ellyn, IL; nine grandchildren, Charles Gray (wife, Maureen), Sarah Gray (husband, Chad Ross), Brian Gray (wife, Katherine), Katherine (Katie) (Gray) Kelly (husband, Chris), Tristan and Chloe Gray and Andrew (Drew), Heidi and Kevin Goltermann and three great grandchildren, Lauren Ross, Maggie Gray and Evelyn Gray.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, March 8th, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in Neal & Summers Fu neral & Cremation Center , Martinsville. A graveside service celebrating his life will begin Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
