Helen has wonderful friends close at home, in Fort Myers FL where she and Paul spent their winters after his retirement, at the Hoosier Village and from throughout the world that they made during their travels.
Helen respected all forms of life, from the small caterpillar on her parsley plant to the larger beast she would see while traveling the Continents. She loved her dogs, she loved growing flowers and gardening.
She always had a story to tell, a compassionate ear for listening, and always offered words of encouragement when needed and was "Aunt Helen" to many. She was one of the most heart loving individuals you would ever want to meet. She was constantly looking out for the downtrodden and one of her greatest joys was doing something to make someone a little bit happier and their life a little bit easier. One of her greatest joys in this regards was in conducting a clothing and school supply drive for the Blue Lake Chapter House on the Navajo Indiana Reservation in New Mexico and then personally accompanying the loaded truck to the reservation for distribution. There were many who thought of her as an Earth Angel.
