Jack E. Boswell, Sr.
86, of Indianapolis, passed away August 15, 2014. He was born in Indianapolis on May 4, 1928 to the late Caleb and Ora Burns Boswell.
Jack grew up in Indianapolis, IN where he met his beloved wife Darlene. They were happily married for over 60 years. He was a firefighter for the City of Indianapolis for 34 years and he retired as a district chief in 1984. He was a custom home builder and owner of J.E. Boswell Builders for over 45 years. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and he maintained his trademark wit and sense of humor all the way to the end.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel , 9900 Allisonville Road with funeral services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Victoria Hampton, Kristi Snider (Dave) and Joni Beal (Dennis); grandchildren, Jack Boswell III, Nick Hampton, Celeste Gellenbeck (Eric), Joshua Hampton (Jessica), Allison Hawley (Ryan), Meghan Price (Justin), Jessica Gard (Ryan) and Mason McKee (Tonya); 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife on October 8, 2011, son, Jack Boswell, Jr., 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
