James "Brian" Pierce
(1954 - 2013)
58, died suddenly May 6, 2013 in Quepos, Costa Rica, where he lived since 2006. Brian was born, July 13, 1954, in Lake Charles, LA, to James and Barbara Pierce. He spent his childhood in Indiana, where he enjoyed playing on many sports teams coached by his father. He excelled at baseball, and pitched for his high school team.
After graduating in 1972 from North Central High School, Indianapolis, IN, he obtained an undergraduate degree from Indiana University, a Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, and a LLM degree, from DePaul Chicago School of Law. He practiced law in Chicago for 26 years. Brian will be remembered for his zest for life, and his gregarious personality. He loved the outdoors, and especially enjoyed fishing with his children in Montana, Wisconsin, and Costa Rica. His father, James Louis Pierce, predeceases him.
Surviving are two sons, James Brandon Pierce (Kristina), and Austin Ronald Pierce, Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Riley Nicole Pierce, Fox River Grove, IL; his mother, Barbara J. Pierce, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; sister, Julie Pierce Baumer (Christopher Byrd), Windermere, FL; brother, Bradley K. Pierce (Tamra), Madison, MS; and former wife, Kimberly Kleopfer Pierce, Chicago, IL.
