James W. Gierhart Obituary

James W. Gierhart

59, of Indianapolis, entered eternal life after a brief illness, June 9, 2013. He was born February 8, 1954, to Rev. Bernard Willis and Dorothy Cornett Gierhart.

James received his Bachelor's Degree from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, where he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. He received his Master's Degree in Business from Ball State University, and was employed with C. B. Lunsford Real Estate, Muncie, IN. James was also a self-employed realtor, owning and managing multi-family dwellings. He married Michelle Gray, October 12, 2002, and was a member of East 91st Street Christian Church.

James was an avid Indiana University fan, but also enjoyed attending/watching all sporting events. His favorite things were spending time with his family, traveling, trying new desserts, golfing, boating and real estate sales. James was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, whose gentle, kind, caring, compassionate, hard-working funny spirit, will be greatly missed. Above all he was a man of great Christian faith, whose love for others will live on through his family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at East 91st Street Christian Church, 6049 E. 91st St., with funeral services Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
