Karen Sue Utterback

53, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 17, 2013 surrounded by her family. Karen appreciated everyone and everything. She enjoyed people for who they were, and never judged anyone. A naturally positive person, Karen always appreciated her surroundings. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as crossword puzzles, Sudoku's, Oreo cookies and spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly. Karen, we love you and although we will never be complete without you, we will continue to celebrate life the way you did every day and make you proud. As an employee of the American Legion National Headquarters for 33 years, she was responsible for payroll for both the Indianapolis and Washington, DC offices. She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church. She was greeted in heaven by her father, Fred C. Greene, and is survived by her mother, Pauline Greene. Also surviving are her children, Stephen Bloom, Kristi Bloom, Bryce Utterback and Britney Utterback; her grandchildren, Vanessa Bloom, Audrey Bloom, and Denver Bloom; her sister, Donna Hall; and her husband, Lance Utterback. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church. There will also be visitation on Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
