Kristin Craig Spickelmier

Age 61 of Indianapolis

J. Douglas Craig Snider

Age 32 of Indianapolis

Passed away on Sunday, December 22nd and November 9th 2013 respectively. Kris was the daughter to Robert and Betty Craig, who survive. Kris was a graduate of Bloomington High School and attended Indiana University before moving to Texas where she received her degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Women's University in 1977. She later received her master's degree while living in Chicago. Her son Craig graduated from Lawrence North High School in 1999 and from Ball State University in 2004. Kris and Craig are survived by Matthew C. Spickelmier of Bloomington, Jay Snider of Noblesville and her stepsons Matthew B. Spickelmier (Kathleen), Ft. Wayne and Samuel C. Spickelmier of Indianapolis.

The family would like to thank the I.U. Hospital- Indianapolis medical staff for their love and devotion provided to Kris throughout her stay. The family also wishes to thank Jane, Nancy, Jinger, Mary, Jackie, Lois, Becky, Jeff and of course her Bloomington Crew for their love and tender caring of their friend, Kris.

Kris loved being a mother. She loved and cherished each and every person she came in contact with. In recent years she shared her life with her beloved Labradors, Barkley, Stella, Lali, Cooper and "The Walter". Her Lake Lemon house was her personal Shangri-La in the summers and upon retirement year round. Kris had a real gift of gab and loved to sit and talk, possibly with a cold Corona and lime, 'til the wee hours of the morning with her friends solving the world's problems. A very joyful spirit, she loved the smile it brought when she claimed to be the first girl streaker in Bloomington during her college days at I.U. Kris loved a gourmet meal with the best of them but probably not as much as a Stromboli at Nick's with her B-Town Crew. The way Kris loved dance and music along with a good party it was only fitting that she met the love of her life, Matt almost twenty years ago at a friend's reggae party. All these kinds of things are ware what Kris would hope friends will remember and honor at the Celebration, PARTY, of life along with honoring the Son she always called her Baby.

A Celebration or Party of life for both Kris and Craig will take place on Saturday, January 4th, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Leppert Mortuary and Crematory, Nora Chapel . You are invited to visit the website, where you may share a personal memory of Kris and Craig, sign the guest book or in lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial gift to Riley Hospital for Children.

For now, so long, we will see you both on the other side and may the four winds blow you safely home.
