Larry Gordon Robinson
of Greenwood, Indiana left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on August 20, 2014 at the age of 80.
Born on July 14, 1934 in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Gladys and Karl Robinson, Larry graduated from Crawfordsville H.S. in 1952 and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1957-59. He worked at General Motors Allison Transmission Plant for 28 years and retired in 1993. Always a hard worker, Larry went on to work at J.C. Penney. He also proudly served on White River Township Fire Department for two decades and attained the rank of Fire Chief.
Larry's most important role by far was as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Larry's memory lives on through his wife, Maxine; children, Tim (Kim) and Pam (Steve); grandchildren, Tiffany, Laura (Kyle), Katrina, Evan and Cole; great-grandchildren, Gavynn and Beckham; two sisters-in-law, Ann and Donna; and his church family at Smith Valley Baptist Church. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, (Roy Zachary); and two brothers, Jim and Dick.
A viewing will be held to celebrate his life at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home in Greenwood, IN on August 24th from 2-6 p.m. The funeral will take place at Smith Valley Baptist Church in Greenwood on August 25th at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Smith Valley Baptist Church.
