Mrs. Martha Harrison
88, of Franklin passed away on August 4, 2012 at the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was born on June 2, 1924 a daughter of Marion and Alpha Pearson, they preceded her in death. Her husband Gerald Harrison also preceded her in death.
Survivors include children, Michael Harrison (Mary Anne), Susan Lutzke (Barry), Jon Harrison (Ellen Causey), Julie Bailey (Joe), grandchildren Melissa McArtor (Trenton), Benjamin Harrison, Andrew, Alex and Amy Bailey, Zack and Gracie Bradley, Eric and Michael Lutzke, Jason Harrison, great granddaughters Kaelan and Kyndall McArtor, and her sister-in-law Willetta Harrison.
Martha was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority. She emceed the Franklin Holiday Parade for many years, as well as various style shows including at the Greenwood Park Mall. She catered for numerous weddings as well as other functions. Martha was the chairperson of the Franklin Community High School Post Prom at the Franklin Skate Club for many years. She donated her time and energy making sure fireman & police officers had coffee and food. Martha was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin, where she and Gerald were married in 1955.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Vandivier-Tudor Chapel , 951 North Main Street from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. The Reverend Cleon Wright will officiate.
