Mary Elizabeth Kerr Fisher

87, Indianapolis, was born on September 29, 1926, in Allensville, KY. She went to be with her Lord on December 29, 2013. Her parents were Louise Gill Kerr and William Kerr. She received a BA from Harding University, and an M.A.T. from Indiana University. She was a retired teacher who taught Home Economics and English for 35 years. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Fread (Don) of Indianapolis; and sister, Sarah Sears of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fisher; three brothers, William Kerr, Robert Kerr, John Kerr; and sister, Cynthia Veitschegger. Mary was dedicated to serving God. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed writing letters to encourage others. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Southeastern Church of Christ, of which she was a member, 6500 Southeastern Avenue. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Southeastern Children's Home or the Southeastern Food Pantry. Care has been entrusted to the Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home; Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel .
