Michael Christopher Vogt
51, passed away in his sleep at his home in Indianapolis this past weekend.
Mike was born in Dover, Delaware on December 28,1962. He graduated from Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar, Indiana and continued on to receive a BS degree in Computer Science from Indiana University.
Mike spent his entire adult life working as a systems analyst primarily in client implementation and training most recently at Fuji Medical Systems and Xerox prior to that. He enjoyed tinkering with computers, being an early adopter of the newest technology, being an adopted member of many different families and a friend and uncle to his own niece and nephew. Mike was a former member and volunteer for the Indianapolis Men's Chorus, former board member of the IU GLBT Alumni Association and regular volunteer for the Indiana Youth Group.
Mike is survived by his mother, Carol Ruffin of Nashville, Indiana; brother, Scott (Connie) Vogt of Frankfort, Illinois; his nephew, Alexander and niece, Alyssa Vogt.
A tribute service will be held in Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple , 1305 East Broad Ripple Ave., Broad Ripple on Saturday, February 15 at 2 p.m. Rev. Barbara Kempf will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the same location from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
