Michael Richard "Dick" Coffey, Sr.

88, of Indianapolis, died on Thursday, April 10, 2014. He was born on September 14, 1925 to Delia and Hugh Coffey. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart, Genevieve White. They were married at Holy Cross Church on July 2, 1949, sharing nearly 65 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Joseph Coffey and sisters, Mary O'Brien, Agnes Perry and Martina Coffey. He is also survived by their five children, Michael R. and Rebecca, Daniel J. and Lisa, Timothy H. and Mary Ann, Mary M., and Jane C. Elliott and Thomas. Other survivors include sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was a veteran of WWII serving as a B-24 nose gunner in the Army Air Corps, 98th Bomb Group. He was President of Major Electric Corporation and a member of the IBEW Local 481 Retirees Club. Michael was member of Fatima Council Knights of Columbus and of Bishop Chatard Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Kevin Barry Division and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Michael's wake will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sun

day, April 13 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 125 North Oriental

Street, Indianapolis 46202. Mass of Christian Burial will be in

Holy Cross Church at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14. Burial

at Holy Cross and St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements en

trusted to Oakley Hammond Funeral Home, Moore & Kirk

Irvington Chapel .
