Norman E. Crawford
82, died Nov. 9, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born in Carmel on June 3, 1931, a son to the late William Herbert and Wilma (Bogan) Crawford.
Norman was a graduate of Kirklin High School in 1949. He then attended Purdue University and graduated with a degree in Economics in 1953. Following school, Norman enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country honorably.
On Aug. 24, 1957, in Lebanon, he was married to Barbara G. (Bischoff) Crawford; she survives.
He was a long-time resident of Indianapolis and worked as the Commercial District Manager for Indiana Bell for 32 years.
Norman was a devoted and compassionate man who deeply loved and cared for his family. He enjoyed the out-of-doors, fishing and camping. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, American Legion, and Masonic Lodge, all of Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara G. Crawford of Indianapolis; sons, Bruce G. (Karen) Crawford of Carmel and F. Scott (Robyn) Crawford of Ballwin, MO; grandchildren, Sarah C. Crawford, Paisley Crawford, Paxton Crawford; brother, Jack (Janice) Crawford of Brownsburg; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Crawford of Winter Haven, FL and Phyllis Crawford of Lake Village.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Crawford and Jerry Crawford.
Funeral services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Fri., Nov. 15, 2013 in St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th St., in Indianapolis, with Dr. Linda McCoy, officiating. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin, IN.
