Rev. Paul W. Strietelmeier

85, passed away, June 8, 2014 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home after a long illness due to a massive stroke in March 1998. Rev. Strietelmeier was born to the late Bill and Lenora Strietelmeier on June 21, 1928. He attended Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland FL and Indiana University, Bloomington IN. He was a Korean War veteran, 1951-52 earning his combat infantryman badge with the 27th Infantry Regiment Wolfhounds. He pioneered two churches in southern Indiana, one in Lyons, IN and one in North Vernon, IN. Rev. Strietelmeier pastored Elletsville Assembly of God, New Castle Assembly of God and First Assembly of God in Indianapolis for almost 20 years. In addition he contributed to starting two churches on the mission fields oversea. He has been an Assemblies of God minister for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Leta; one son, James (Pam) Wesley; one daughter, Tianne Lynn (Russell) Reed and two grandsons, Logan Strietelmeier and Skyler Reed. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel . The Rev. Johnny Garrison will preach the celebration service at Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014. Burial will be in Westridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis IN.
