Richard Wesley Zimmerman
Indianapolis, lost his battle with brain cancer on June 12, 2014 at the age of 64 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Kay (Kendall) Zimmerman; daughter, Megan Walker (Brent Walker); son, Erik Zimmerman (JoBeth Cox-Zimmerman); four grandchildren, Alex, Peytan, Gavin and Ashlyn; two sisters, Barbara (Zimmerman) Roland (Sanford Roland, SR.), Margaret (Zimmerman) McCotter; brother, Thomas Zimmerman (Jennifer Zimmerman); and 11 nieces and nephews. He is reunited with his mother and father, Charles and Helen Zimmerman, and nephew, Clint Roland, in heaven. A seasoned professional in transportation, Richard drove and worked in a sales role at Wheaton, Atlas Van Lines, and American Red Ball. He enjoyed volunteering for little league baseball in Fishers, was an avid Colts fan, supporter of his grandchildren's athletic teams and has traveled the world with his family. Richard graduated Arlington High School in 1968 and attended TriWest and Indiana University. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The National Brain Tumor Society or the Humane Society of Indianapolis. All services will take place on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan - Geist , 7855 Cork Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46236.
