Ronald E. Drury

66, of Greenwood, formerly of Lebanon, died Saturday, September 28. The son of Wilbert W. and Eunice M. (Harvel) Drury, Ron was born April 15, 1947 in East St. Louis, Illinois.

He was reared and educated in Mishawaka, Indiana. He graduated from Mishawaka High School, Indiana State University with a Master's degree and Indiana University with a J.D.

After graduating law school Ron was elected Boone County Court Judge at the age of 27. A few years later he successfully ran for Circuit Court Judge. Judge Drury was awarded the distinguished honor of Trial Judge of the Year in 1987. Ron retired from private practice in 2010.

Ron enjoyed a wide circle of friends and was always up for a golf trip, poker game or a stimulating conversation regarding his strong belief in the Democrat party.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Drury of Greenwood; children, Laura (Kevin) Finn of Granger, Indiana, Matt (Liz) Drury of Lebanon and Jeremy Drury of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren, Alex and Avery Finn and Samuel and Jacob Drury; brothers, Ted (Laurie) Drury of Auburn, Indiana and Don Drury of Mishawaka; several nieces and nephews and the mother of his children, Dr. Becky Drury of South Bend, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, October 3 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, Greenwood Chapel , 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46143 and on Friday, October 4 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary , 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052. There will be a private family funeral service with Pastor Lee Faust officiating. Ron will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial contributions in Ron's memory may be made to the Lebanon Boys and Girls Club.
