Russell J. Dias

76, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was born to the late Alvin Dias and Lucille LeBlanc on February 12, 1937 in Baton Rouge, LA. Russ graduated from Istrouma High School in 1955 and attended Louisiana State University. He married Judith Anne Couvillion in February 1958. Russ finished Dun & Bradstreet Business Course in 1960. Russ was a salesman by trade and worked for Bruce Foods, as a Sales Manager followed by Bush Brother Foods, as a Sales and Project Manager until 1979, when he purchased AMI Food Brokers in Indianapolis. In 2005, he became the Managing Partner of Roselyn Recipe until present.

Russell loved to play golf, watch Colts football, LSU football, and IU basketball. He was heavily involved in Catholic Discipleship ministries including heading up small church groups and leading pre-marital counseling groups for 20 years. He was passionate about his faith, his family, his friends, and especially the love of his life, Judith Anne.

Russell is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith Anne of Baton Rouge; five children, Denise Broussard, Randy Dias, (Sharon), Rhonda Spencer, (William), Todd Dias, (Hope), and Rick Dias, (Jane); sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Alvin Dias, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Barnabas Catholic Church on Saturday at Noon, preceded by a short visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
