69, Sam Robinson, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 of a sudden heart attack.

Sam was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on November 20, 1943 to Wilma and Dan Robinson. He graduated from Purdue University with both a bachelor's and a master's degree. Sam was married to Louise Pahs on August 17, 1968.

Sam worked in the Carmel Clay School System for thirty-eight years where he was a teacher, assistant principal, and an administrator at the district office. He loved working with children in his various capacities as an educator. As a teacher and administrator, he touched many lives with his ever-present smile and passion for learning.

The Robinsons retired to Arizona in 2003 to be closer to their daughters and grandsons. Sam was an avid golfer and loved to travel with Louise and family to various locations throughout the country. He was a Purdue fanatic and watched every sporting event he could. Sam's greatest passion was for his family and friends.

Sam is survived by the love of his life, Louise; daughters Susan Edinger and Sheri Moakler (Tim); grandsons, Jack and Sammy (his namesake) Moakler; and his countless relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. at the Queen of Heaven Mortuary in Mesa, Arizona. This will be followed by a prayer and eulogy service from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Mesa at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 19. The family will be hosting a reception at the Oakwood Country Club in Sun Lakes immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carmel Education Foundation, 5201 E. Main Street, Carmel, IN 46033; The ; or St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1730 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa, AZ 85202 in memory of Sam Robinson.
