Ginger Battershell Obituary

Ginger Plunkett Battershell 56, Danville, died May 24, 2011 in her home. Ginger was born December 4, 1954 in Robinson, Illinois to Andrew and Jane (Finkbiner) Plunkett. Ginger graduated from Oblong Illinois High School in 1972, received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois- Springfield and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Indiana University. She married Ric Battershell on January 30, 1978. Ginger worked from home for Youth for Understanding- USA for 15 years. She attended St. Augustine Episcopal Church. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 in Weaver and Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, with a Mass service at St. Augustine Episcopal Church on Friday, May 27 at 11 a.m., interment will be there in the memorial gardens at a later date. Survivors include her husband, Ric; mother, Jane (Finkbiner) Plunkett of Oblong, Illinois; sons, Zachary (Erin) Battershell of Indianapolis, Peter Battershell of Danville; and daughter, Jill (Bobby) Miller of Avon; three grandchildren, Luci, Kendal and Grayson; two sisters, Diane Eller of Salem, Illinois, Janay Dalton of Dixon, Illinois; and one brother, Mark Plunkett of Alton, Illinois. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
