Stephen and Dale Ettinger want to extend our condolences to you Dennis and Jackie and your entire family on the passing of your son. We do understand just how fragile life can be. Years have passed, but the loss of a child is a horrible pill to swallow. We are saddened by this unfortunate time in your lives. God does have a purpose for those lost to soon. It is just very difficult to understand at times. We pray for your time to heal, and to reflect not just on his life, and what he meant to all of you. But most important now is to focus on your 2 beautiful children that you both love and adore. He is always with all of us. He will never be forgotten. We are so sorry, and hope time will help comfort you and your family knowing so many people are with you during this difficult time in both of your lives. Love you guys.

Dennis & Jackie, I am so sorry Tracy and I could not be there. As parents, Tracy and I feel no one should have to endure what you are dealing with now. I met Nick only twice at IU. I don't attend the same school but would visit often. He was part of a group of friends I was introduced to late in the first semester of our freshman year. During the first night, he had played his favorite movie that contained a lot of singing, dancing, and performances (I don't remember the title) and was so excited to show someone who had never seen it before. He reiterated interesting facts about the movie and pointed out noteworthy actors and actresses. He was always--ALWAYS--so generous whenever anyone came into his room ranging from offering juice in his fridge to giving up sitting space for others to play video games. It makes me absolutely sick that I will never get one more chance to see his bright face, blonde hair, or luminescent smile. It's absolutely insane that he barely started his sophomore year with us and I didn't even get to see him. However, from this moment on, there needs to be more recollection than mourning because I know if nick were still around, he would be in pain to see this many people frowning.
