Resident of El Cerrito
Passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at 74 years of age. The cause of death was breast cancer. A native of Toronto, Ontario, and long-time resident of El Cerrito, she is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. Turner and Grayce M. Turner (nee Nesbitt). She graduated as a History major from Occidental College, Los Angeles, and was a member of the Alpha Sorority. She relocated to Northern California in 1960 and enjoyed a 40+ year career in the Graduate Division at the University of California, Berkeley. She was admired and highly respected for her wealth of knowledge of graduate affairs and her keen memory for facts and details. Upon her retirement in October 2001, she received the Berkeley Citation Award. Carol loved the Berkeley campus and continued working part-time through 2010 in the Graduate Division as well as the Bancroft Library. Above all, she was a true blue fan of the Cal Bears. Carol will be greatly missed by all her friends and all who knew her.
She was interred at Sunset View Cemetery, El Cerrito. A public memorial service will be held at UC, Berkeley a later date. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the
