Jack (Red) Wallace Obituary
Jack (Red) Wallace
May 20, 1925 - January 21, 2014
Resident of Hayward
Jack (Red) Wallace, who died at the age of 88, was a Jack-of-All-Trades. After proudly and heroically serving his nation during World War II as a tail gunner on a B-17, he went on to serve as a union official for the same union that had represented him back when he worked in a tire shop. Jack, who could fix just about anything, was ever-ready to assist friends and relatives at the drop of a hammer. The only thing he couldn't fix was his propensity to hit the ball into the water on the 6th hole at Willow Park Golf Course. After retirement, Jack's passion for golf was surpassed by his pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary, Jack is survived by his son Don Wallace (wife Linda); daughter Vicki Hild (husband Del); granddaughters Kristy, Laura (husband Drew), and Amanda; great grandchildren Mary, Bailey, Parker and Tristan; devoted neighbors Dick and Lorraine; and good friend Vince. In compliance with Jack's wishes, no formal service will be held.
