Kenneth Wayne Stofle Apr. 11, 1940 - Jan. 3, 2014 Resident of Fremont Kenneth Wayne Stofle passed peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy illness on Jan. 3 at his Fremont home. He was born in Merced, CA on April 11, 1940, grew up in Richmond, and graduated from Richmond High. Ken was a graduate of Chico State College where he was a member of Lambda Pi fraternity, played football, and was a cheer leader. Ken taught elementary, junior, and senior high in Milpitas for over 30 years. There he coached football and girls basketball. He also coached football at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont. Ken loved all sports and was an avid 49ers fan. He was a member of the Fremont Elks Lodge. He enjoyed travel and especially spending time with his friends, daughters and grand daughter. Ken was predeceased by his mother, Eunice Hollowell, step-father, Edward Hollowell, and his father, Claude Stofle. He is survived by his daughters Emily Lynch (David) and Mary Stofle, and grand daughter Lula Lynch of Los Angeles. He also leaves a brother Doug Hollowell (Suzanne) of Dixon, many nieces and nephews, and former wife Susan Howell of San Leandro. A Celebration of Life will be held on Jan. 22 at 2 pm at Swiss Park in Newark, CA. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in Ken's name to .
