Obituary Condolences

Louie Tucker, Jr. 1920 - 2013 Long time Half Moon Bay resident Louie Tucker, Jr. died peacefully in Fremont, on January 20, 2013, with his daughters at his side. He was born June 16, 1920, in Kentucky to Louie Tucker and Ethel Lee Poe. He attended local area schools and after graduation joined the C.C.C. Prior to WW II, he enlisted in the Army-Air Corps. and attended radio school in Kansas City. Louie served in the Cook Islands and was later stationed in Half Moon Bay, where he met and married the late Mary Jane Quinlan. After he was discharged in 1945, he began his career at PG&E and retired in 1982. Lou and Mary Jane had four children. Sharron Farris of Fremont, Janice (Jay) Bouris of Honolulu, HI, Gary (Barbara) Tucker of Fresno and Thomas Tucker of San Antonio, Texas, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a niece, a nephew, a grandniece and 2 grandnephews. Lou loved travel, BINGO, sports, garage sales and his pets. He was a proud member of the Odd Fellows, American Legion, V.F.W., N.R.A., and was a past member of the Civilian Air Patrol, volunteer fireman and reserve policeman. He served on the Board of Trustees of Half Moon Bay Union High School and the Board of Directors of Ocean View Plaza Foundation. A memorial service with a reception following will be held on Saturday, February 16 at 2:00PM at the small I.D.E.S. hall on Main St. in Half Moon Bay. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice, the nurses from Bright Star and the wonderful staff at Lincoln Villa for the loving and compassionate care they gave our father.
