Thomas Bernard "Tom" Doherty Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Bernard Doherty June 3, 1931 - Feb. 5, 2013 Former Resident of San Lorenzo and Hayward Tom Doherty was born in Trail, B.C., Canada on June 3, 1931. He met his first love, Audrey and followed her to San Lorenzo, CA, leaving his many siblings and parents behind. The couple had 3 children; Jerry, Shawn, and Kelly. Tom was a butcher by trade, and had a lucrative side business, of which his slogan was "You can't beat Tom's meat!" (Which reflects his sense of humor perfectly). He was a member of the Moose Club, and the Butcher's Union, and was a feisty, resourceful, keen and funny guy. He is survived by his son Jerry, who resides in La Grange, grandchildren Monica Doherty, Alishea Doherty, Jennifer Doherty-Ensler, Shannon Doherty; extended family, Michelle Doherty and Lorraine Potts of San Lorenzo, and caregiver Marniee Sjolander. He was preceded in death by his children, Shawn and Kelly, and his love June Womack. We imagine they were "there" to greet Tom on the other side. A casual memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 1-4pm, at the home of Lorraine Potts, at 17479 Via Julia, San Lorenzo, CA. Your presence, stories, photos, jokes, and any memories are welcome for the Irish celebration of Tom's life. Donations can be made to Moose Charities: http://www.moosecharities.org/Giving.asp.
