Thomas Charles Hammerson Oct. 17, 1927 - Apr. 16, 2013 Resident of Greenville, CA Thomas was a native of Oakland, CA and attended Fremont High School. Following high school he enlisted in the Coast Guard where he served for three and a half years attaining the rating of Radioman 2nd class. He worked for a short time for Continental Can Co., Rosefield packing and Forderer Cornice Works. He then went to Pacific Telephone and was there for 33 years and 6 months. After retiring he drove a School Bus for the New Haven School district and he worked for U-Haul delivering Trucks to different Rental Sites. Tom then moved from Fremont, CA to Greenville Ca. where he resided for 23 years. He had a heart attack in 1998 and was unable to work again. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hammerson, his brother George and sister Shirley. He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 60 years and four sons; Bruce (Kathy), Glenn, Douglas (Lisa) and Mark. He has three grandsons; Bradley, Richard, and Mark Thomas as well as, four granddaughters; Megan, Jennifer, Rachael, and Jenny. He was blessed with three great-granddaughters Alyssa, Sylvia and Neveah and one great grandson Sergio. P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Hammerson family. There will be a celebration of life on April 27 at 12:00 p.m. in Greenville. A memorial service will be held at a later date in his home town of Greenville, Ca.
