Doris Marie Haraburd Doris, a long time Island resident, passed away on the evening of June 29, 2014 at St. Joseph's Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. Doris was 80 years old. Born February 23, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Gustov and Pauline Rodstrom, Doris lived her early life in Chicago, attending St. Barbara Catholic School from which she graduated in 1952.  She attended the University of Illinois at Navy Pier and Urbana-Champaign.   Doris married Donald Joseph "DJ" Haraburd in Chicago on May 9, 1955.  They lived in Chicago, Illinois, Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Sacramento, California before settling in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina in 1972.  She was a successful Real Estate agent, spending most of her career at Sea Pines Real Estate where she worked in the Property Management division before becoming one of the first female agents, as well as one of the most successful agents, at Sea Pines. DJ passed away in 2001.  Doris married Leonard "Ike" Davis on August 16, 2008. Both Ike and DJ served in the Korean War.   Doris and Ike spent the last 6 wonderful years living in Sea Pines, enjoying island life and all it has to offer.  They were members of the local Elks Lodge.  Doris also volunteered with the Lions Club. Doris was preceded in death by DJ.  She is survived by her husband, Ike Davis, her brother, Charles Rodstrom and his wife Angie, her son Douglas Mark Haraburd, his wife Mary Lou and their children Daphne and Dillon, her son Dirk Michael Haraburd, and his wife, Mary.   Adored wife, sister, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by us all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite Hospice provider. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 8 from 6 to 8 pm at The Island Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
