Attica - Barbara Jean (Hensley) Bowers Lamaster, 84, Attica, passed away unexpectedly at the Williamsport Health and Rehabilitation Center, Williamsport, on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 5:00 a.m.
Barbara was born in Pike Township of Warren County, Indiana, on May 22, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Clifford Raymond Hensley and Mildred Geneve (Brown) Hensley Cronkhite. She was raised and educated in West Lebanon. She resided in West Lebanon most of her life. She had spent 13 years in Danville, IL and has resided in Attica since 1995. She has resided in the Williamsport Health and Rehabilitation Center since November of 2013.
Barbara had first worked as a tester and loader for Radio Material Corp. in Attica for 11 years. She worked for General Electric in Danville, IL as a heliarc welder and later as a group leader. She retired on June 30, 1991 after working for 31 ½ years at General Electric.
She formerly attended the Assembly of God Church in Hedrick. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Barbara first married Kenneth Bowers on July 4, 1947 in Hedrick, IN. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1989. On November 26, 1995, Barbara married Edgar Lamaster in Attica, IN. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2009.
Barbara leaves behind her son, Larry (Pam) Bowers, West Lebanon; a brother, Donald Hensley, West Lebanon; a sister, Judy Hunt, Dayton, TX; two grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 9 step great-grandchildren; her close friend and roommate at the nursing center, Betty VanSickle. She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Bowers, on August 13, 1992; a brother, John Hensley; a grandson, Joshua Bowers and a step daughter, Sue Ann Thomas.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, August 30th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery, West Lebanon, IN.
