Bonnie G. Waymire, 59

Attica - Bonnie Gladine Waymire, 59, Attica, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014, in the Heritage Healthcare Center, West Lafayette.

Bonnie was born in Williamsport, Indiana, on December 16, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Jackie Lee and Mary Lou (Jennings) Waymire. She was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1973. She attended Indiana State University and received her LPN from Danville Junior College in 1978. She received her nursing degree from Lakeview School of Nursing in Danville, IL in 1986.

Bonnie was a registered nurse. She formerly worked at Interim Occupational Health in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She also was the Program Director for training and teaching CNA & QNA nursing in Indianapolis. She also worked as the Director of Nursing at Shakamak Nursing Center in Jasonville, IN and the Bloomfield Healthcare. She had also served at the Provena United Medical Center in Danville, IL. She finished her nursing by being a charge nurse in medical research for the Richard A. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. In 1990 she published an article that appeared in the Journal of Vascular Surgery. After serving 30 years in nursing, Bonnie retired in 2008 and moved back to Attica.

She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post # 52; member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica; member of the Women of the Moose and Academy of Friendship of the Moose. She enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, first aid collection, Hallmark, Longenberger baskets, purses; memorabilia collection of Star Trek, Pop & Fresh Dough Boy and nursing.

She leaves behind her aunt, Katie Jones, Princeton, IN; Uncles, Wallace "Red" (Linda) Jennings, Attica and Donald Dean (Donna) Jennings, Waxahachie, TX; dear friends, Ricki McBride, Normal, IL; Vicki Jarvis, Kokomo; Roderick Jarvis, Lafayette; Ryan (Melinda) Jarvis, Kokomo; Daysha Jarvis, Kokomo; Amanda Yokum, Maddyx Swinney, Jerry and Pam Ault, Jonathon Alt, all of Lafayette; Mentor and good friend, Dr. Joyce Atchinson, Phd, Rossville, IL; Kenny Jones and Valarie Maus, both of Attica.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Alonzo Burt and Marie Jennings along with her paternal grandparents, Roy M. and Edna Elizabeth Waymire.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, August 26th, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. A gravesite service with Rev. Richard Puetz officiating will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica.
