Debbie Jo Ingersoll, 58

Debbie Jo Ingersoll, 58, of West Lafayette, passed away at 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013 in her home after a long term fight with breast cancer that started in 1995. Born June 30, 1954 in LaPorte, IN, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Belva Jo (Keene) Ingersoll.

Debbie graduated from LaPorte High School and earned her B.S. in Business Administration with a certificate of urban studies from Indiana University. She also held a real-estate broker's license. She most recently was employed with the Tippecanoe County Assessor's office as the Customer Service Supervisor. Prior to that she worked with the Republican co-director of the Board of Elections in Tippecanoe County. She was a 20+ year member of the Boy Scouts of America, most recently with Troop 144 in Flora, IN. She previously held positions at Cub Scout Troop District Council and National levels. She was Tippecanoe County 4-H shooting sports coordinator and a member of the Wildcat Valley Rifle and Pistol Club. She was lodge advisor and a vigil honor member.

Surviving are her son, Charles Ingersoll Lehman of Scottsburg, IN; two sisters, Cynthia Ingersoll of Virginia and Nancy Harris of Wisconsin; and three nieces, Betsy Scheinbart-Norton of New York, Belva Burga of Minnesota, and Nicole Larson of Minnesota.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Boy Scouts of America Cary Camp, 6286 State Road 26, Lafayette, IN with Chaplain Lauren Orchard officiating.
