John M. Jennings, age 64, of Medora, Indiana, died at 3:25 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at Our Hospice in Columbus, Indiana.
Born on September 28, 1948 in Glasgow, KY, he was the son of the late Rondall Jennings and Gertrude Rigsby Jennings.
He retired from the U. S. Army with rank of Sergeant after 11 years of service. John married Cindy Bauer on March 1, 2004 in Indianapolis and she survives.
John was a member of American Legion Post 112 in Brownstown and VFW Post 1925 of Seymour.
Surviving with his wife are his children: Scott Jennings, Johnny Hughey, Matthew Hughey, Joey Silva and Krystal Jennings, step-son: Justin Hovey, two step-daughters: Erika Bauer and Kimberly Bauer, one brother: Dennis Jennings, one sister: Melody Henson, 14 grandchildren: Alanna Llama, Alexi Llamas, Andrew Llamas, Aubrey Llamas, Jordan Jennings, Karen Murphy, Rylan Bauer, Scott Jennings, Jr., Matthew Hughey, Jr., Shelby Hughey, Candice Hughey, Corey Hughey, Christian Silva and Emma Silva, 1 great-grandchild: Madison Murphy.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. in Brownstown and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Also visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
