Owen G. Hoehne, 89, of Lafayette and Sun City, Arizona, passed away from us on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette.

Owen began his life on November 12, 1924, in the Twelve Mile, Indiana, area before moving to the farming community of rural Fulton, Indiana. He was the son of Paul A. and Nellie A. Skinner Hoehne.

He graduated from Fulton High school and later earned his bachelor and master's degree from Purdue University in connection with the military and University of Minnesota. Owen spent three years in the Army Air Force. He then returned home to Fulton County where he was married on June 22, 1946, at the Fulton United Brethren Church to Marilou P. Hartzler.

As a married couple, they moved their life to Otterbein, Indiana, where Owen taught high school math and physics for fourteen years. Later, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he continued teaching the same subjects at Phoenix High School for twenty-five years.

Owen was a dedicated and faithful member of the Fulton Baptist Church. He enjoyed basketball, golf, camping, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Owen is survived by his two children, Robert "Bob" Hoehne, Lubbock, Texas, and Lynne Armstrong, Sun City, Arizona; one sister, Harriet R. Zartman, Macy, Indiana.

Owen was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lee Roy Hoehne and Lowell Hoehne, and one grandson, Jeremy R. Hoehne.
