Paul Stanley Fischer, 10

Paul Stanley Fischer, age 10, of Huntingburg, Indiana, lost his battle to brain cancer at 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his home. He was born June 19, 2002 in Jasper, Indiana to Jay and Michelle (Phillips) Fischer. He attended 4th grade at Pine Ridge Elementary School in St. Anthony. Paul was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntingburg, where he was baptized and received his first communion. When asked by his mother - "Paul, please tell me one thing that you would like everyone to know about you", Paul replied, "I am Catholic." Paul Fischer was a vibrant young 10-year-old who loved his family, friends, football and baseball. If you wanted to know anything about sports, you could just ask him. Paul could give you the stats and the 411 on any team and on anything related to sports. He was a Saints fan and a Notre Dame fan. His favorite color was orange and his favorite pastime was watching WWE wrestling, and wrestling with his daddy. He also loved Reeses. Paul was a member of the Little League Baseball and All Star team at Pine Ridge, as well as the Ferdinand Flag Football program. He aspired to attend Purdue University some day and wanted to become a Meteorologist Paul is survived by: his parents, Jay and Michelle Fischer of Huntingburg; one brother and one sister, Anthony Fischer and Katie Fischer; his grandparents, Patty and Stan Fischer of Ferdinand and Donald and Vivian Leuck of Lafayette; his Godparents, Maria Denning of Ferdinand and Kurt Boeglin of Huntingburg; and his great-grandparents, Norma and Jim Bouwkamp of Lafayette. Preceded in death by: his great-grandparents, Manuel and Edith Perez-Padilla of Miami, Florida; Donald Leuck Sr. of Lafayette; Cecilia and Art Gundhoefer of Mariah Hill; and Norbert and Lena Fischer of Ferdinand. Funeral services for Paul Fischer will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery (Huntingburg). Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 12:00 (noon)-8:00 p.m., on Thursday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
