Phyllis C. Oakley

Phyllis C. (Boyle) Oakley, 74, Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 2:26 p.m. in the St. Elizabeth Central Hospital, Lafayette.

Phyllis was born in Williamsport, Indiana, on January 8, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Henderson Andrew and Hazel Lavaughn (Willman) Boyle. She grew up in Williamsport and graduated from Williamsport High School. She has lived most of her adult life in Lafayette.

Phyllis had worked for Indiana Bell and Radio Material Corp in Attica. She has worked most of her life in health care services. She had worked for Westminster Village in West Lafayette and St. Anthony Nursing Center in Lafayette. In the past few years she worked as a private in home health care provider for local families in the community.

Phyllis had been a member of the Women of the Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge, both in Attica. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She prepared wedding cakes and floral arrangements for weddings.

On August 12, 1960, Phyllis married Daniel "Danny" Ray Oakley in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2004.

Phyllis leaves behind two sons, Bruce (Teresa Edwards) Oakley and Mike (Missy) Oakley, both of Lafayette; three brothers, David Boyle, California; Tom (Janet) Boyle, Perrysville and Charles "Bud" (Myrlis) Boyle, Zionsville; four grandchildren, Mercedes, Courtney, Austin and Heath Oakley.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, March 29th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
