Robert E. "Bob" Vandergraff, born July 2, 1926 in Lafayette, IN, to Albert and Hattie (Torrenga) Vandergraff, died October 18, 2013 in Clearwater, FL, after a long illness. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Mercury Motors Service School. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Bob was Vice President of Goris Tire Company Marine Division Specialist. He attended Christian Reformed Church in Lafayette. He was an enthusiastic Jeff High School and Purdue University fan. He had been a full time resident of Clearwater, FL since 2008. He attended First Christian Church of Clearwater.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Kennedy Vandergraff of Clearwater; his son, Robert E. Vandergraff II and his wife, Sheila (Pitts) Vandergraff of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Lindsey McDonald, Justin Vandergraff and Nathan Vandergraff; one great-grandchild, Hailey McDonald; four step-children, Terri Kennedy, Jayne Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, and Juli Steinocher; two step-grandchildren, and two great step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Esther (Kaufman) Vandergraff and a brother, Albert Vandergraff, Jr.
Visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Bonnes officiating.
