Robert Harold Biggs, age 84, passed away peacefully holding his wife's hand Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in Hollister, Missouri. He was born February 22, 1929 to Hawley Harold and Lois Blanche (Cronk) Biggs in Highland, Indiana. Bob married Mary Jane (Wilkinson) on October 16, 1955 in Muskegon, Michigan.
Bob graduated from Earl Park High School, attended Purdue University and was a graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics. Bob served in the 525th Fighter Squadron at Ladd Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Bob retired from General Telephone in 1984 where he was the past president of In Plant Printing Management Association as well as a published author and recognized expert in his field. Bob and Mary Jane then moved to Hollister, Missouri where he worked at the Stonecroft Conference Center. Bob was a member of Friendly Baptist Church in Branson, MO. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Muskegon, MI, and the Fruitport Lions Club. He enjoyed playing the organ, piano and trombone. Bob also enjoyed playing golf, and in his later years, enjoyed woodcarving, drawing and painting.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jane; his son Steven (Brenda) Biggs of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his daughter Cheryl (Jim) Sutliff of Spring Lake, Michigan; 8 grandchildren: and 3 great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. (CST) in the Friendly Baptist Church, Branson with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. (CST) Pastor Cardis Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson.
