Roy J. Benner, 89, Michigan City, Indiana, formerly of Fowler, Indiana passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 am in Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Michigan City.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. CDT Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, 606 So. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Chris Stanish officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from Tuesday from 10:30 am till 11:30 am CDT at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

He was born November 3, 1924 in Fowler, Indiana to the late William & Ruth (Windler) Benner. On June 4, 1946 in Fowler, Indiana he married Lois Jeanne Price, who survives Michigan City; Also surviving are 2 Daughters, Cherryl (Tom) Pollock of Michigan City, Indiana, Carol (Greg) Coulter of Phoenix, Arizona and Son, William Benner of Chandler, Arizona; 8 Grandchildren, Laura Tubbs, David Holdcraft, Robbie Benner, Matt Benner, Summer, Renee, Jennifer and Jake; 12 Great-Grandchildren and many Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister, Patricia VanMeter of Rensselaer, Indiana; He was preceded in death by 3 Sisters, Lillian Goetz, Jeanette Blankman and Irene Schwartz; 2 Brothers, Harold and Ralph Benner

Mr. Benner was a member of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, Moose Family Center 980. Roy retired from Arizona State University as supervisor of Custodial Service. Lois and Roy enjoyed camping and had toured the United States in their camper.
